Ascend

Instructions

Everything you need to get Ascend running — and how to undo it if you ever want to. Under two minutes from key to optimised.

Requirements

OS
Win 10 / 11

64-bit only.

Runtime
WebView2

Microsoft Edge WebView2 — already on Windows 11, a small install on 10.

Access
Admin

Run Ascend as administrator so it can apply and revert tweaks.

Everything is reversibleAscend makes a Windows System Restore point before it changes anything, and every tweak can be turned back off individually or all at once with Revert All. You are never stuck with a change.

How to run

  1. Verify your key

Go to the loader page, paste the key from your order, and click Verify & Download.

  2. Download Ascend

Your download unlocks the moment the key checks out. The same key activates the app — there is no separate account.

  3. Run as administrator

Right-click Ascend.exe → Run as administrator. If Windows SmartScreen shows a blue screen, click More info → Run anyway — it's a new, unsigned app, not a virus.

  4. Activate & pick a profile

Paste your key once when asked. Then choose a profile — Safe, Balanced (recommended) or Aggressive — and hit Apply. Ascend applies only the tweaks that suit your PC.

  5. Restart if prompted

A few tweaks need a reboot to take effect. After restarting, the profile shows ● active and the applied count reflects what's on.

First launch = HWID lockThe first time you activate, your key binds to your PC's hardware ID and only works on this machine after that. Any time on the key starts at first activation — not when it was generated.

Common problems

A game won't launch, or something feels off after applying

Open Ascend and click Revert All — it undoes every change. If the app won't open, use Windows System Restore and pick the “Ascend - before applying tweaks” point. Uninstalling alone does not undo the changes; Revert All or System Restore does.

Steam or a game opens but won't load / connect

That's a network setting. Open Command Prompt as administrator and run netsh winsock reset, then netsh int ip reset, then restart. Or just use Revert All in Ascend.

After a restart it says 0 tweaks applied, or some show “not applied”

Update to the latest build (Ascend prompts you). Tweaks for Windows services your PC doesn't have will show as not-applicable — that's normal, not a failure. The profile shows ● active when everything that can apply is on.

“Cannot reach the activation server”

Ascend can't reach the licence server. Check your internet, disable any VPN that blocks non-browser traffic, and make sure your firewall or antivirus isn't sandboxing the app.

“Bound to a different PC”

Your key was first activated on another machine and is HWID-locked to it. If you legitimately changed hardware, open a ticket and we'll reset the HWID for your key.

Windows SmartScreen says the exe is unrecognised

Ascend isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen flags it as unknown. Click More info → Run anyway. If you don't trust the file, don't run it.

“WebView2 could not start”

Ascend's interface runs on the Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime. It ships with Windows 11; on Windows 10 install it free from Microsoft, then reopen Ascend.

Keep your key privateAnyone with your key can activate it — and the first activation binds it to their PC, not yours, so you'd lose access. Never share it in screenshots, streams or chats.
