Ascend

Changelog

Every update to the Ascend optimiser, newest first. The app prompts you to update automatically — this is what you're getting.

  1. v1.4.10Latest10 Oct 2026

Connects on more networks, and now tells you exactly what went wrong if it can't.

    • Activation failing on some networks and VPNs — the app now falls back to a direct connection when proxy auto-detection breaks, so setups that used to be stuck can connect.
    • If it still can't reach the licence server, the message now names the real cause (region block, firewall/antivirus, out-of-date Windows, or timeout) instead of a generic "check your connection".
  2. v1.4.93 Oct 2026

Startup control, one-click cleanup, and it puts your tweaks back when Windows undoes them.

    • Startup manager — toggle which programs launch with Windows, right from MISC → startup (reversible any time).
    • One-click cleanup under MISC → cleanup — clears temp files, GPU shader caches and the DNS cache to free space and smooth out stutter.
    • Auto re-apply — if a Windows update quietly reverts tweaks you'd applied, the app spots it on launch and offers to put them back.
    • The health score is now tappable — click a flagged item to jump straight to the fix.
    • A "what's new" note now shows after each update so you can see what you got.
  3. v1.4.818 Sept 2026

Leave a vouch, report an issue, and clear out Windows bloat — all in-app.

    • Leave a vouch right from the app — rate it and drop a line without leaving.
    • Report an issue in one click; your PC specs are attached automatically so support can help faster.
    • New Debloat page under MISC — uninstall Windows bloat (Xbox, Copilot, Cortana, Teams and more), with a confirm before anything is removed and reinstallable from the Store.
  4. v1.4.712 Sept 2026

Safety net before every apply, and the risky connectivity tweaks pulled out.

    • Ascend now creates a Windows System Restore point before its first apply, so you can always roll the whole PC back — even if the app won't open.
    • Games and Steam failing to launch or connect after Aggressive — removed the network and security tweaks that could break connectivity on some setups.
    • The newer VBS-off, CPU-mitigation and GPU MSI-mode tweaks now apply on every profile, not just Aggressive.
  5. v1.4.69 Sept 2026

You can finally see which profile is actually live.

    • Active-profile indicator — the profile you're on shows ● active, with a live count of how many of its tweaks are applied.
    • If a tweak fails to apply, Ascend now names it instead of just showing a number.
  6. v1.4.56 Sept 2026

Fixed the applied-count that scared everyone.

    • The applied count no longer treats tweaks for Windows services your PC doesn't have as "missing" — those show as not-applicable, and the profile reads as fully applied when everything that can apply is on.
  7. v1.4.43 Sept 2026

Three new tweaks — 100 in the catalogue.

    • Added Disable VBS, Disable CPU mitigations and GPU MSI mode, bringing the tweak catalogue to 100.
